About Us

Fenton House was founded in 1987 by Ken and Liz Nevells. We opened for a take out only at first, but the in 1993 decided to convert the entire building into a full serve family restaurant.

The Family has a long history of serving good food. Liz's grandparents, George and Ella Mitchell, started the original Mitch’s Tavern. Liz's parents, Tom and Despina Nicholas, opened the Highland House in 1976. Ken opened up Gus's Restaurant in Howell in 1981.

Liz's brothers Elia and Greg Nicholas with the Highland House and Tomato Brothers (formerly Gus's) also own the E.G. Nick's restaurants in Brighton, Plymouth, and Lapeer. Though each restaurant is unique, they all have some things in common; you will always have fresh food, good service, and family ownership that truly cares about you, your family, and your experience in our restaurants.

We all know there are many, many places to go for your dining pleasure, and we certainly appreciate you choosing us. If there is anything you require that we don't have, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
